House parties were (and still are) the best way to get deliciously smashed, have amusing drunken conversations, and most of all cause general inconvenience to neighbourhood folk by being loud and obnoxious.
But most of all, they give you a sense of rebellious accomplishment as you watch over the vomiting messes with a smile on your maggoted face thinking, "fuck you mum!".
